Support Malawi are pleased to share photos and stories from the beneficiaries of our adult literacy and numeracy classes.

We are running the first course attended by 20 adults for an hour each day. They travel from local communities, to join the lessons and learn how to read and write. They are supported by loyal staff from Support Malawi, librarian George Banda and primary teacher, Briton Mpingo.

One of the learners, Bessy, said “This is indeed a wonderful opportunity for us to learn how to read and write. With these skills, we will be able to support our families better now than we are currently managing. We are struggling even to put food on the table for our children. Once we have finished learning we will be able to encourage our own children to do their homework and help them read and write. Some of us are planning to open small businesses now we are able to add up with numbers.”
